i'm currently going through hordes of old british boys' magazines, either online or in my own small collection, to prepare myself for the first number of "the bombardier's eyes". anyway, while doing this, i stumble across this wonderfully bullish editor's letter from "the boys' friend". note you have to buy "the magnet" to find out why he wasn't at the front in 1915, which i think is a lovely extra touch...
